He was my world, he was my strength, i have no idea where to even begin on how much this is affecting me right now, it happened all so sudden and so quickly.

The day that I became a metal stunt car driver

So yesterday morning driving to work,
in shitty weather conditions,
raining for 3 days

someone ( I like to refer to her as Queen Latifah ) decided to pull out in front of me from the turning lane into my lane causing me to downshift from 3RD gear to 2ND gear, and ease into my breaks knowing there was slippery roads, I started to hydroplane and ending up clipping the driver in the far right lane front bumper, which caused me to skid and then flip and land facing the other direction hitting the rear end of another car in the turning lane, with the bed of my truck. Sounds confusing I'd made a video with hot wheels ,but you know that's a little more effort that I feel like giving.

As I hang there in my seat belt ( like I'm in some shitty fucking carnie ride that the bolts fell out while you're whirling upside down listening to stairway to heaven ) , attempting to find the door handle and or the window crank to get the fuck out of my truck cause I am in panic mode and not knowing if the shit is going to blow up, a upstanding citizen ( very few at this moment I might add ) happened to be a coca cola driver at the shell station next to the street where the accident was, ripped open my door since it was jammed due to the flip.

I unbuckled my seat belt, which totally saved my life, and rolled out of the car.

Totally freaking out at this point all I could think of is oh my fucking god am I bleeding, am I alright, how did I survive! I have to call Simon before I have a melt down...

So needless to say after all the crazy assholes that were involved being accused of being drunk at oh you know before 9 am and not wanting go the fuck off on miss Latifah, and Cedric the Entertainer's scheming ass broke ass twin . I am OK
I have some pretty intense bruising on my legs, where the steering wheel hit, and across my chest and right armpit where the seat belt was, and a nice knock on the noggin..

but other than that, just a mangled car and a court date... and some asshole (cedric) who's car wasn't even hit or sustained any damages claiming he was injured by the accident, YEAHHHHH RIGHT..... that's not going to hold.

So Simon and I went to visit Shea and the lovely ladies.
( Sonya and Lillian ), it was the most amazing trip!
We got to babysit the first two days of our arrival. YAY!
Columbus is amazing, we had a copious amount of vegan places to go.
a few in walking distance from her house!

I love love love Shea's new house so many plants, so many memories in every little corner. It's like the home you expect to come home to. Every time I visit her, I always remember how much I love having her around, and being around her and the girls! No matter what we do it's awesome, we could just be sharing a bottle of wine or sitting around all sweaty in a summer aired filled house, without the misery, or teaching me how to knit, with patience's and trickery, its good times, all good times..... Should have totally wrote off work and stayed another week.

I do not see my ladies enough I fear..

Though these pictures totally make me happy each time i look at them!

So I salvaged the top of the table from this company behind our work that has these huge spools, Simon sanded it down, glued the bottom and top pieces together of the spool to make this table top, and then clear finished.

We got the white modern base from Thee Anderson's.
and the chairs well, those are my creation, took some ikea chairs, sanded the backs finished them in black and added some upholstery, these are mainly for our dining room table, but we brought them out here too see if it worked!

and the cute little candle on the table is one of our handmade soy ( citronella )
which can be soon found here.

We received some tomatoes from the Thee Anderson's they are doing very good we just added cages today, we got some peppers from a local organic farm, they are growing really well, and our cucumbers are going to the best I think.
and some corn, something got to most of the corn already, which is pretty disappointing but whatever, and as you can see we harvested some of green beans so far, and they taste pretty amazing if I don't say so myself!
We also have some edamame and its got a few pods on it so far, they look tasty!
I'll take pictures of the herbs and others soon.

indian thai fusion tofu marinade

Not to sure how this turned out yet but I tasted the marinade, and I loved it!

I ended up not making enough so I had to make again for the last half of the cooking.

1 cup of lemon juice or lime I used lemon cause it was all I had ( zest if you have also)
2 tbsp Bragg's
2 tbsp olive oil
2 tsp thai seasoning ( sevananda has this in the bulk herb section if you live in ATL )
2 tsp paprika
2 tsp garma masala
2 tsp Indian crushed red peppers
2 tsp coriander
2 tsp cumin
3 cloves of garlic minced
equal parts cut minced ginger
half marinade
cook at 450 °F for 25 mins and pour rest on cook for remaining 25 mins

cook time 45 mins
prep time 30 mins if your slow.

I made some coconut basmati rice with this and sauteed some yellow onion and green pepper with it also, adding a little of the left over garlic and ginger to the sauteed veggies

now we are ready to enjoy.

several slices of this multi grain sourdough loaf
1 cup of rice/soy milk
or you can do 1/2 of soy creamer and then 1/2 rice or soy milk
2 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 egg replacer
2 tablespoons of canola or vegetable oil
1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
3 healthy shakes of cinnamon

whisk all ingredients together till smooth
throw in your bread and soak
in your frying pan cover bottom with oil/ i used vegan margarine for a better flavor
make sure this is a thin layer
cook each side of bread for about 2 mins
should be a brown with flecks of dark brown consistency..
I served mine with slices of banana and fakin bacon,
and of course some great maple syrup!
and ENJOY this foxy motherfucker did!

A few days ago we had a real problem with our visit to the local whole foods, time and time again we have given this place a chance and they continue to fail miserably, and this time I took it to the next level...

But lately we have found that your hot bar is lacking in the vegan options, we have been on several different times a week, morning, mid day, and evening and found that kung pow tofu is often the only real option other than plain salad or veggies. Which is pretty sad, the same goes for the deli side, there is always some sort of baked tofu and crab cakes, is that all your kitchen knows how to make? I can forward you all some other recipes if that is the case?

We bought $99.07 worth of groceries 22 items and our cashier had someone next to her bagging for her another woman( assuming another cashier ) she put three items in a huge bag and went on to another bag, we bring our own bags always, this other cashier seemed very put off by even bagging our groceries in the first place, So we took them from her and continued to do the job the proper way making full use of the actual bag.
Listen I used to work for a health food grocery store I was a cashier, I identify with what it is like, but I also normally bag my own groceries cause it takes the pressure off the cashier, but this was a farce. I mean it's your job, We were just really put off by the whole experience...
We will never return to your store, this is pretty poor service, and for a health food store you're really lacking the whole idea.

As for the vegan selections, we have used the best indicator of customer opinion we have, and that is, what sells when we put it out. We, obviously, from your email, have room to grow here and I have talked with our Prepared Foods Team Leader and he has assured me that we will be exploring our options in this area. We do dedicate a 4 foot section of our Chef's case to vegan choices. Also, we do have more vegan recipes, as we understand that there are many people who chose to not eat animal products (our founder and CEO is a vegan).

As for the experience you had at the checkout, I have talked with the Customer Service Team Leader and he will be following up with cashiers on making the most of every bag. Please feel free to let our cashier know that you are OK with filling the bags up. We do serve a wide range of customers, some who want the bags packed lighter, some heavier, some more separated, etc. We love to get a little direction on what your preferences are. We are never put off by serving our customers. We understand that you are the ones that drive the business. Without you we have no business. I will once again use your feedback to address the issue you brought to me.

I hope that have answered all of your concerns. We truly do appreciate our customers and hate the thought of losing one. Whole Foods is a health food store, this is one of the same reasons I quit the health food store I worked at in Florida cause they sold out to a meat toting company full of assholes, and totally changed the whole idea of the store, because they were flat broke and owed to much to there vendors, but this same shit really gets my blood boiling, so its back to Sevananda, like we should have ever strayed from her..

TOM KHA SOUP!

So I made this soup for tomorrow's dinner with thee andersons

12 oz tofu, extra firm
4 cups (2 cans) coconut milk organic
1 1/2 cups vegetable stock ( used Edward and Son's Vegan Not-Chick’n Bouillon )
3 - 4 stalks lemon grass, chopped
1 Serrano pepper
4-5 green thai chili peppers ( toooo hott )
6 slices of ginger root
2 tablespoons of braggs or tamari
5 kaffir lime leaves ( real tom kha ,calls for it didn't have it big deal )
2 limes ( i like limes )
1 tablespoon hot pepper oil (or peanut oil
2 sprigs of Cilantro (optional) i use a little more
1 of each bell pepper ( green, yellow, red )
1/2 of yellow onion
! package of mushrooms or close to 10 chopped
pinch of red pepper flakes

Lightly sprinkle the tofu with Bragg's or soy sauce. Place in preheated oven at 450 degrees. or broil and keep checking for about 15 mins otherwise

Allow around 45 minutes for this to cook. You may need to stir it up and add more Bragg's occasionally. You know when it is done when the tofu starts to brown.

In large sauce pan, place coconut milk, vegetable stock, ginger root pieces, lemon grass and all your chili's. Bring to boil while stirring occasionally. After the mixture starts to boil, reduce heat to a simmer, allow to simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.

After the mixture has been simmering for 20 minutes.

Add the tofu mixture, and all your bell peppers, onions, mushrooms.

Bring back up to a boil. Stirring occasionally.

After the everything starts to boil, add 4 Table spoons of Bragg's or soy sauce (add as much you like), 5 Kaffir lime leaves( if you have access ) , the remaining chili's, and squeeze in the juice from the limes. Stir and reduce heat to a simmer.

Allow to simmer for 5 more minutes.
Serve in bowls garnished with cilantro.

So our music/computer room was a little crowded... (under statement)

So I figured since we needed a workspace for Simon out in the garage for him to do his little projects and such, and the table we were going to get was at IKEA the day it snowed. BUST

So we didn't have the truck with us to pick it up we decided to go back for it Monday after work, well since it was in the AS IS section that shit flew out of there since it was a really great table and deal.

I suggested maybe we use my old table out in the garage and take this one which was cheaper and more of the aesthetic I was looking for.

So here are the before and afters! We are pretty excited with how much more room it has given us and how much nicer it looks, at least on this side, I just have to wait for Simon to clean up his side of the room......

So today Thee Anderson's came over to help us start our shared new garden this year!
And Jacob's birthday was Friday, So they came over to celebrate up with us again!
I made some amazing Boston Cream Cupcakes for Jacob ,from the book
( vegan cupcakes take over the world )

Man they were great.... Good thing I slaved over those fuckers. From 12:30 am - about 2 am

Totally worth every minute! Don't think we took pictures of them cause well we ate them all... Maybe I will document them better next time and the fucking mess it made of my kitchen.

It was pretty beautiful day, started out kinda blase with the threat of an overcast day, but the sun came out and we were in luck!

Here are some photos from our day of gardening and BBQ ( tofu )

Kristin and I came up with this lovely marinade for the tofu.
Would be really great with some vegetable fried rice we decided,

ingredients

2 tablespoons tamari
2 tablespoons maple syrup
1 tablespoon of olive oil
half of a orange juiced
3 cloves of garlic ( we could have added more we love garlic )
orange zest ( about half of the orange ) I did more of a peel

Just pop in the tofu or setain and let it soak up the goodness for about 2hrs
We shook around a bit every once an a while.

Put it in the oven on BROIL for about 20-30 mins
flipping from time to time so it gets cooked on both sides of course

YAY for the first real day of spring.
Notice no pictures of Salvador since he scares the crap out of Johnny with this crazy I want to love you/lick you exciting personality.
So he hung out in the morning outside with Bosco and they got to play, while Johnny took his nap.

side note- my dad is out the hospital and feeling better he had a pacemaker put in, pretty intense stuff the last week.

so next week we are off to florida to do some much needed hanging with poppa!
Considering its his birthday next Saturday!

This shits beautiful........

It's amazing now much a shithole dirty city looks so pristine and clean with a little white snow everywhere.

This is Salvador's first real snow ever, we ran into a little bit in ohio visiting Simon's parents a few years ago but it was never like this.

The neighbor's bamboo trees were getting bogged down with snow while we, were in the backyard a few snapped, which is why I am making a crazy WHOAAAAA face,
notice Bosco heading back up the stairs of the deck B-lining it to the door cause he hates/loathes snow,sleet,rain, basically any type of weather.. silly old man.

So Salvador and I went around the neighborhood all the parents with kids around the block were making snowmen and women, and sledding in their yards. I may go down the hill in a bit cause I have yet to do that EVER... thanks Florida..... for ruining my childhood.

I do remember like in the eighty's, one night were out at my parents friends Max and Toni's house, where I spent most of my childhood watching my parents and there friends run into sliding glass doors wasted sneaking beers & wine, and the occasional cigarette , being scared of a huge German Shepherd named SNOWBALL,that eventually bit the face off the owners daughter (Heather), ( she lived, just a million stitches, and 3-4 surgeries later ) swimming all day long, watching pink Floyd's the wall, listening to air supply, playing with Heather and Shannon, that eventually bit the face off the owners daughter, ( she lived, just a million stitches, and 3-4 surgeries later ) anyway it snowed i gathered the pseudo snow off the cars, cause that's all it would stick too and we saved it for years in the freezer.

there was this really cute little wired hair terrier named Spirit she was our guide along one trail, we sat down at this bench and she sat there next to us on this rock and stared off into the woods for like 20 min's it was amazing, it was so zen, i mean i have never seen a dog so at peace and so happy to just run around.
We didn't take her picture cause i felt like it would steal her soul. I know that sounds mental...

whatever.
so we were the only ones there besides the people that work there. and when we left there was 2 people camping.

we definitely want to go back esp when its warmer and when the organic garden is in full effect.
cause that shit looked like it would be amazing.

anyway we had a great time... and apparently so did Abbie...... staying at our place watching the dogs...

After going camping a lot recently, I felt like I needed more plants and outside inside.

So I pulled apart some dead cactus plant ( yeah I left it outside, I will say that it lasted about 2 years though), that's where I took the stones from the gnome home.
Found some moss in the front yard, and added some planting soil, and that's all.
I did some research on these I didn't add any spanish moss to the bottom of this one or any charcoal, cause I didn't feel the need scout around for that sort of stuff.

So I left it out.

*Happy to report it's still greener than ever and a little bit more sprouts have popped up in the moss, and its about month later

formally and informally this is a blog about:

lastly an old friend we picked up along the way cause she started this mess anyway, cause she is going to be out of school and we ( 2 of us ) haven't seen her in like a million years ( 7-9 ) i think. whom is going to practice her ching chong ding dong medicine on us sense shes the grown up in the group!!!!

some may know us as, " those people, oh look its them, the assholes, and awe they have a cute dog couple, look its that fag with his best friend who's a total cunt."

others may know us as "there fucking best time of there life."
